The Smithills Estate is the Woodland Trust’s largest site in England and in 2017 it was successful in a National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). Over the five year project this funding will help deliver a project that protects trees as well as creates new woodland, engages local communities and protects the countryside.

Smithills Estate would not be able to run without the help of its volunteers, some of our volunteers have developed a love for photography and they have a number of incredible photographs to share. This exhibit is a chance to show everyone their thriving talent. Each month we will change the exhibit to a different theme. This month's theme is Winter, the cold has most certainly taken over on Smithills Estate and it's brought us some incredible sights.
